I could not get the above signature to work, so I altered them slightly and this seems to work better:

[DllImport("msvcrt.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)]

[DllImport("msvcrt.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)]
static extern Int32 fclose(IntPtr file);
