Tips & Tricks:
When invoking this code from ASP.NET on Windows 2000, you may need to add the "Act as part of operating system" privilege to the ASPNET user account to make it work. See the note at the bottom of http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q306158 for this information. Also, after doing this, you may need to reset IIS to make the change in privileges take effect.

Alternative Managed API:
I Just Found an alternate way of doing this. I havent gone test it too much, but it has worked for me, if TCP port oppening is not a problem for you then it may also work for you
This means the credentials will not be carried across. So if you intend to access Database, Files etc remotely you should revert to using the unmanaged code above.

Once you have the instance of WindowsIdentity, you may do most of the things you can do with it, but i believe you can't impersonate from it, it works fine if you are only trying to validate is the user and password or to verify to wich groups does the user may be included in
